Three Years and Still Kicking

Yup. Thats right, Crowned Meadow is now three years old! Or you know, it is as of the 22nd of September.

I’m starting to feel old, now. Anyway, you may or may not have noticed that yet another new layout has popped up. It’s darker and plainer than the last green one, but I like it anyway. And yes, I did make that neat apple up there.

I think I finally worked out the way to organize the network section, so I’ll work on that when I get time. I also have a new website Crowned Meadow Designs - yes, thats right. You can now commission me for graphics and the like.

Right, anyway. Love you guys. <3

Moondust Fantasy Webserial

It began in a small town, as stories often do. It was a quiet place for the most part, a town on the Lachlan River in NSW, Australia. The town was friendly as little towns ever are to strangers, but even so when they saw certain people.. well, they believed their reasoning for not liking them on sight was justified by the odd things that seemed to follow them.

You see, the good folks of Blackridge had the unfortunate delusion that magic, for better or worse, was nothing but fiction. Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter-Is-A-God type fiction. So when things that could not be explained away by reason and science occurred, they blissfully ignored it. Because if they ignored it, who was to say it was real? Certainly no one else in the Western World could still believe in those children’s tales, could they?

So yes, they did notice Raina Tibbits when she moved into the old Williamson house just outside of the main area of town, but if you ask them they’ll deny it. Because she’s too strange for them to acknowledge her existence without admitting that perhaps those old stories aren’t as fictitious as they previously thought. And this is where we meet the lady of the hour, Miss Raina Tibbits. Or Ms, if you prefer - she never minded either way. But she’d prefer you just called her Raina.

You’re always there when I turn around

It was my little sisters birthday today, so cheers to you, Lily. Not that you’ll see this, as you’re only seven at the moment - but maybe, one day you’ll care.

I’ve added my twitter to the sidebar so you can better stalk me and the blends page is half done, you can go give it a look if you fancy. For those who are new it’s here. The ones from last year are all up and have thumbnails, but the underline on the links appears to be causing a weird problem, so ignore any random looking black and/or orange lines, please.

I’m currently working on some craft projects I plan on selling. I had made a blog for that on wp.com, but thats apparently a no no so I’ll have something fixed up soon, probably. Things like hand dyed papers/OOAK* corkboards/ Goddess Dolls and such. Is there anything you think I could do that you’d like to see for sale?

On another note, someone apparently brought me paid time on Flickr. Which is weird. And I have no idea who did it.. but.. cool stuff!

Oh and mum brought me The Children of Hurin… I think thats all I have to say. *ponders*

Oh and Lea, happy birthday. Again. Despite I said so a day early.

Do You Ever Get Lonely?

This has to be the simplest theme I’ve ever had on a website of mine. I didn’t make the theme itself, but I did make the header. I’ve been having coding block for layouts. I mean, I could do the graphics forever, but coding gets old fast.

So, tada! Nice, clean site thanks to Ardamis.com.

As to what’s new, well for now I’m uploading the new icons, I’ve got some ideas about how I’m going to fix up the blends sections and such, I want them too look better. I think I’ll install lightbox again since I’ve learnt how to wrangle with it a bit better now.

Also, how about a little life update for those who don’t follow my blogs.

I’ve been doing various things over the last few months, notably a heck of a lot of RPing and research on some things. Marauders Life restarted just the other week and we’ve been at it. I love ML, though admittedly this is the third time we’ve restarted, and Sammy and I kind of managed to get Bellatrix and Rodolphus kicked out of Hogwarts within an all time record of three school days approximately. So much for going slow.

Those I get the distinct feeling some of the chaos was induced by the fact Sammy and I were finally talking on microphones and were plotting - therefore Krista and Jamie had no idea what so ever we were up to until it happened. It just so happened we blew up a few students and castle parts. Namely the great hall.

But a lot has been going on over there, it’s quite fun, actually.

I’ve also been keeping track of the dreaded Strikethrough 07. That wasn’t the most pleasant situation I’ve ever been unfortunate enough to watch, especially with company representatives openly mocking it’s user base. As a person who enjoyed livejournal enough to pay for an account since two months after I joined, I was utterly appalled, though I admit not too shocked as this was some time in from the beginning of the pissing contest. It is needless to say that I have moved, and may possibly just blog here, if I find any other sites lacking. Though I am quite enjoying greatest journal (which I was already a member of for ages anyways) and insane journal, though neither is exactly what I loved about LJ, and that makes me lonesome some, but you can’t win them all.

In other news my mother need to grow up. And she knows where this is, so:

MUM IF YOU READ THIS PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS UTTERLY IMMATURE TO REFUSE TO GO TO CHRISTMAS DINNER MERELY BECAUSE YOU DO NOT LIKE YOUR UNCLES WIFE. JONE IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT GOING TO BE THE ONLY PERSON THERE AND FRANKLY I’M A WITCH, I DON’T CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS ANYMORE PERSONALLY, AND I’M GOING WITHOUT COMPLAINING. PLEASE JUST GROW UP.

That said she’ll probably only notice this next July.

Uh yeah, it’s late. I need to go. I’ll finish with some more stuff soon, I promise. And also? Sometimes I upload without adding it here. it’s bad of me and I’m sorry.

A Long Time Coming

Well, it’s been a long time, hasn’t it? I suppose it’s about time I prove I haven’t died, as opposed to popular opinion.

If this is the first time you’ve been here for a while you might notice two things, one we have a new layout, it’s called the Book of Life and two there is an ad down the bottom of the page. The layout was a long time in coming and is I think my best thus far, I got the idea from Autumn Pixels a few months ago and it kind of stuck, the name, I think I got from Enya.

The ad bar, just below the layout is there in the hopes that this site will eventually come to pay for itself, I can’t offer incentives for people to click them but if you see something that interests you or you just want to help me earm some cash, feel free to click on the ads.

I’ve also opened a Cafepress store for the domain: Crowned Meadow’s Ye Olde Shoppe, there you can find original designs by yours truely. All funds go to keeping me feed and internetted and such, so uhmn. buy something, if you can

I seem to have abandoned LJ somewhat, which is both bad and good, I’ve had more time just to be myself, to sit outside and such. I do love all my lj friends and stuff though and to any of them that see this, I’m sorry I haven’t been around.

I need to talk to my hostees, I haven’t heard anything from them recently, with the exception of Steven and I think that Ellie is still having problems with her ftp though I’m not sure why, so I’ll have to work that out, but it works fine for me which is really odd

I’ve also started work on an Environmental/Metaphysical/Spiritual and Paranormal webzine and if anyone is interested in being staff they should comment here or email me. Oh and I think I can update more often now, so keep watching.

Wow… One year older…

Another year older. Today is both Frodo and C-M’s birthday.

What have I learnt in a year? What have we all? I’ve found myself and lost myself again, a year ago today was a very painful time for me, my Dad (grandfather) was not long dead and I felt the most pure form of pain I ever had. For a while I hurt, then I was numb, there is only so much contentment you can find in a grieving family, and yes it still hurts like the worst thing I’ve ever felt.

Daddy was more then a grandfather to me, he was a father, a friend, a comrad, a mentor, a teacher, a listener, my kin, my heart and everything I ever had known. Out of all the death in my life, his affected me more then any other, I thought he would always be there. Like the old river gums on the banks of the lachlan. I wish he never died, he wasn’t that old, he didn’t deserve it.

But death is not the final aspect of life, my Daddy believed in a lot of things, though he was catholic like most of my family I consider him more of a seeker then anything else. He believed that the soul was an ageless thing, reincarnating until all of lives lessons had been learnt. He believed in the earth, in nature, in our own powers. That religion was a personal thing and need not be classified as the three biggest, Christianity, Muslim and Jewish.

Am I any wiser for knowing him? Well I would like to think I am. Death is not the end all of life, but a new begginning.

Faith is something that should unite us, not divide us. In this world, you’re faith can be why you’re hurt, hated, abused, mocked and so many other things. It shouldn’t be though.

What else have I learned this year?

I’ve learnt that my friends are some of the most beautiful and kind people in the world, I’ve also learnt who my true friends are. I’ve learnt it’s okay to come out of the broom closet, to be myself.

Let me state this loud and clear;

I. AM. A. PAGAN. A Witch, actually.

*sees all the people hiding*

I hate that ‘witch’ is a bad word to most, it feels so beautiful to call myself that. There was a time when witch meant healer, wise one and so many other positive things, but you see fear twists peoples minds against things, and certain religions are good at fear.

I’m not saying I don’t believe in Jesus, but I don’t believe he was God. He was a very wise man with a good heart. Folks, whatever happened to ‘Love thy neighbour’? Jesus didn’t say ‘love thy neighbour if it suits.’ Or is that optional in todays world?

Whatelse have I learnt?

I’ve gotten better at design, I’ve learnt wordpress, I’ve learnt to hold my temper more often then not, I’ve learnt nothing is solved through pain and suffering.

What have you learnt?

I’ll wear a smile through the darkened night.

Hello folks, well it’s that time of the century again and *gasp* I actually have something for you to look at instead of making you stare off into space ^^; Though first I’ll tell you what’s been going on, despite the fact you may not give a damn.

Well, the school holidays have come and gone again, and its getting deathly cold, because its you know, winter, despite popular belief it actually gets incredibly cold in Australia in the winter.
I haven’t been doing much, I know and I appolguise, I’ve been busy and thus a lot of stuff
remains incomplete.

I’ve been doing a fair but of writing, and will probably get around to fixing the writing section up soon. Most of it is fanfiction of the Harry Potter kind, which is my favorite kind, infact, LotR fanfiction is hard to write, because… well my fellow LotR fans are scarier then my fellow HP fan ^^.

I’m currently planning to write a chapter story on Bellatrix Black-Lestrange’s life, it’s called “Roses in December.” It’ll be from birthto death and have different ratings per chapter, I suppose. Links to everything will go in the writing section and on here when it goes up.

Also, you might wanna grab a look under icons, there should be new ones.

I wont be doing much on here this week, my friend Kate died
and her funeral is on friday. :’(
